It was chartered on 20th Jan 1959. It started with strength of 20 members & the founder President was Rtn Ramlalji Agrawal. Today it has a strength of 116 members. Club’s weekly meeting is scheduled on every Friday at 09.00 pm at Rotary Hall, Smt S.R.Mohta Mahila Vidyalaya, Khamgaon & monthly meeting is a family get-together with good fellowship. RC Khamgaon bears it’s own land of 1.5 Acres at MIDC near Ghatpuri & constructed it’s permanent project Rotary English School, where education to the children of deprived people is given at very nominal rates and that too without any sort of donation. Another milestone is Rotary Matimand Vidyalaya, which is a non-granted school for mentally challenged students. Rotary has also built 02 Jal-Mandirs at Court & Sub-Registrar’s office & 01 Jal-Nikumbh at Smt S.R.Mohta Mahavidyalaya for providing the good quality of water to the people round the clock. Rotary organizes Kavi-Sammelan every year on 19th Feb, as a fund raising program, inviting world fame poets to perform. Under two matching grant projects, Rotary has set up two Computer Laboratories at Shri A K National High School and New Era High School. Thousands of needy students are taking benefit of the same. Under global grant project of Rotary International, Toilets were constructed at Tilak Rashtriya Vidyalaya. Also RO Water facility, School Desks, Benches & Bunk Beds at the hostel were provided under the same head. This project costed almost 23 lacs of rupees. Recently, first time in the history of RC Khamgaon, two children were deputed to France & USA for a period of one year under Rotary Youth Exchange Program. Since 15 years, RC Khamgaons arranges RYLA program of 03 days as a Personality Development Camp of students at some remote place. It also arranges IOL camp in which 150 plus eye surgeries are done every year at just Rs 200. Mega Tree Plantation & Mega Blood Donation Camps are other attractions of RC Khamgaon. Every year, on the occasion of Installation ceremony, RC Khamgaon gives donations to Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti Vachanalay & Tilak Rashtriy Vidyalaya. Also felicitates the common man of the society, who did uncommon work but were not recognised on any platform. RC Khamgaon has an interaction with another service groups like Lions Club, Giants Group, Jaycees Club etc & plays a friendly cricket match with them. Last year, RC Khamgaon took an active involvement in excavation of an old water supply tank namely Januna, funds of nearly 40 Lacs being raised through the donations by the people & the fruits can be seen that this year, there is no scarcity of water in Khamgaon. RC Khamgaon also organized 03 Rotary Utsav in a row as a fund raising program. RC Khamgaon also organizes Marathon Event every year to bring the awareness regarding fitness in the people & proudly to say that International runners like Mr Pradeep Jaiswal & Mr Amit Updeo also took part in that. At the district level, RC Khamgaon has been equally active. They have hosted many district events, mainly AGTS at Chikhaldara & District Assembly of over 700 delegates at SSGMCE Shegaon, and many ICFs. It has contributed a large in District & has provided 09 Assistant Governors, Conference Co-chairman, Dist RYLA Chairman, District Joint Secretary and many more. In 2016, RC Khamgaon sponsored Rotary Club of Shegaon, which is proudly performing well & is conducting many mega events even. Icing on the cake is that RC Khamgaon is going to have one of the biggest leaderships from Khamgaon. Rtn Dr Anand JhunJhunwala is declared unopposed DGND for the prestigious post of District Governor for the year 2022-23.
